Genzler Unveils Magellan ULV Series: Ultra-Light Vertical Bass Cabinets
Genzler Amplification has unveiled a new lineup of cabinets called the Magellan ULV series. The “Ultra Light Vertical” designs are described as the “lightest, most compact bass cabinets Jeff Genzler has ever offered.”
The range includes three models – a 1×12″, a 2×10″, and a 2×12″ – that range in power handling from 350 to 700 watts. Each features neodymium speakers and tweeters in a front-ported enclosure, offering more projection and depth while taking up less real estate on stage. The result is a sound defined by “tight low-end support, vocal, mid-range definition, and available top-end shimmer,” Genzler writes.
The MG-ULV line is constructed from an ultra-light, multi-layer poplar plywood. The MG-ULV-212T weighs in at just 35.5 pounds.

Genzler’s new Magellan ULV Bass Cabinet Series will ship in early February, priced at $1,099, $1,359, and $1,599.
