BOSS Launches GX-1B Bass Multi-Effects Pedal with 130+ Effects at $229

Boss has added to their GX series of multi-effects units for 2026 with the GX-1B, a model they describe as an entry-level edition tailored for bassists. At just $229, the unit offers 16 amp models and over 130 effects.
The GX-1B features a high-res color display for monitoring presets, editing, and menus, while eight color-coded, hexagon-shaped buttons indicate what effects are active. The buttons also allow for engaging or disengaging each effect. Holding them down opens up a menu for adjusting the parameters for that particular effect. The Gear Suite allows for quickly configuring each amp and effect with the turn of a knob.
Three footswitches and an expression pedal let you toggle effects on the fly. Other features include 99 preset memories, 99 user memories, Bluetooth playback, recording capabilities via USB-C, a jack for expanded footswitch controls.
The Boss GX-1B has flexible power options of four AA batteries, an AC adaptor, or USB power. It’s shipping now.

I’m looking for a pedal that will give my jazz and factor bass a tone similar to a fretless. Is this possible?
