How Bassist Fred Sablan Shapes Deftones’ Massive Three-Song Stretch at Lollapalooza Chile
Deftones delivered a powerful three song stretch during their set at Lollapalooza Chile 2026, moving from Sextape into Swerve City and finishing with Rosemary.
Bassist Fred Sablan drives the entire run with a thick and focused low end. From the looks of the footage, Sablan is playing a Fender Precision Bass with a some heavy overdrive at times, pushing through his Ashdown rig.
The contrast across the three songs is striking. Sextape floats on atmosphere while the bass quietly locks in with the drums. Swerve City flips the switch immediately with a tight and driving groove. Rosemary stretches things back out again, building slowly into one of those huge Deftones moments where the bass sits right in the middle of the wall of sound.
