Jack White Drops Two New Singles Ahead of This Weekend’s SNL Appearance

Saturday Night Live this weekend promises to be one for the books with Jack Black hosting and Jack White appearing as the musical guest. In advance of the episode, White has unleashed two new singles: “G.O.D. and the Broken Ribs” and “Derecho Demonico,” which mark his first new music since 2024’s surprise album, No Name.
Both tracks feature the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee’s longtime live band of drummer Patrick Keeler, keyboardist Bobby Emmet, and bassist Dominic John Davis. Each member gets a moment to shine on the psychedelic blues groove of “G.O.D. and the Broken Ribs.” The song’s lyrical stanzas are punctuated with solos, starting with White, then Emmet. Davis delivers a bluesy solo riff capped off with a diminished lick, all of which is drenched in effects.
Davis gave us the inside scoop on the tone. He used White’s ’65 Fender Jazz bass through the Third Man Hardware x Donner Triple Threat with some heavy palm muting and a pick. For the low octave, they used the Third Man Triplegraph.
Check it out at the 1:55 mark:
“Derecho Demonico” features another riff-based groove with some gnarly bit-crusher tones.
“G.O.D. and the Broken Ribs” and “Derecho Demonico” are streaming now on Apple Music and Amazon Music. Vinyl editions are available from Third Man Records.
Davis will be on the road with Jack White for a European tour. See below for their summer itinerary.
