FruitFX Space Cube Combines Square-Wave Fuzz With PLL Madness

FruitFX Space Cube

FruitFX Pedals has introduced the Space Cube, a pedal that combines the square-wave fuzz of its Melon Cube model with a Phase-Locked Loop (PLL). The result is a fuzz that borders on synth territory. FruitFX calls it an alien communication device with tones that range from “pitch-shifting fuzz to sub-octaves to theremin-like sounds.”

The Space Cube has standard Volume and Tone knobs, plus a Rate control for how fast the PLL works and a Wow! control for the intensity of the PLL.

You can hear the effect on bass at the 3:25 mark in the company’s demo video:

The FruitFX Space Cube is hand-assembled in Long Beach, California. It’s available now for $165.
