Down Announces 2026 North American Tour With Helmet and Spirit in the Room
Heavy metal supergroup Down is heading back out on the road this summer for a North American headlining tour. The group, formed in New Orleans in 1991, will be bringing Helmet and Spirit in the Room along for the ride.
The tour begins August 15th in Atlanta, Georgia. From there, they’ll head north as far as Montreal, Quebec before coming down the East Coast and into the Midwest. Down’s final date will be opening for Slayer at the Mystic Lake Amphitheater in Shakopee, Minnesota.
Down is comprised of Philip Anselmo (Pantera), Pepper Keenan (Corrosion of Conformity), Kirk Windstein (Crowbar), Jimmy Bower (Eyehategod), and bassist Pat Bruders (Crowbar, Goatwhore). Loudwire reports that the group has completed a new studio album, marking their first since 2014’s Down IV – Part II. They did, however, release a cover of Dr. John’s “Right Place, Wrong Time” that features Bruders grooving on his Rickenbacker.
