Janek Gwizdala is keeping some pretty legendary company in this live performance of “Como.”
Recorded at Sam First in Los Angeles, the trio features Gwizdala on bass, Peter Erskine on drums, and Nir Felder on guitar. Erskine locks in beautifully with Gwizdala and Felder, keeping the performance loose, open, and relaxed. Gwizdala is playing his headless Mattisson bass through an Ampeg rig, delivering a warm, clear tone that sits perfectly in the trio setting. The result is spacious and deeply musical.
The performance comes from the sessions for Gwizdala’s upcoming live trio album, Quiet Places.
