German bass amp manufacturer Glockenklang has expanded its Acoustic Series with the Acoustic 10-2, a cabinet designed for acoustic instruments and electric bass. The two-way system features a 10-inch ferrite bass/midrange driver and a 1-inch dome tweeter, all in a small stage footprint.

“It offers maximum transparency, natural dynamics and a surprisingly mature bass response in a compact format,” the company writes on its website. “The Acoustic 10-2 was developed for musicians who demand the very highest standards of uncoloured and faithful sound reproduction. Whether it’s a double bass, acoustic guitar, cello or electric bass – the speaker reproduces every nuance of the instrument as a finely tuned two-way system with impressive clarity and linearity.”

The Acoustic 10-2 is rated at 200 watts RMS with an 8-ohm impedance. Glockenklang says the crossover uses high-end components, while the cabinet is constructed from high-quality birch plywood and fitted with a honeycomb front grille.

“The high-frequency section is fitted with an ultra-high-end film capacitor from the Danish premium manufacturer Duelund Coherent Audio, which guarantees a silky, uncompressed and extremely spacious reproduction of high frequencies,” they add.

The handle is built into the top of the cab for comfortable transport to the gig. Finally, the rear panel has two Speakon inputs.

The Glockenklang Acoustic 10-2 ships soon for about $1,111.
