Watch Michael League and Mark Lettieri Tear Into Snarky Puppy’s “Lingus”
Snarky Puppy took the stage at Nancy Jazz Pulsations in France with a ten piece version of the band that absolutely rips.
One of the highlights was “Lingus,” Michael League’s tune from the band’s 2014 album We Like It Here. League is holding the low end on his vintage Fender Precision Bass through his usual Markbass rig, complete with that impossible to miss LK strap. This version takes a fun turn when Mark Lettieri gets an extended guitar solo. He keeps building while League and the band stay locked underneath him and before long Lettieri is flying.
The original “Lingus” became legendary in large part thanks to Cory Henry’s keyboard solo. This performance gives us another reason to revisit the tune with Lettieri getting his turn to go off.
