Kill Devil Hill, Featuring Rex Brown, Announce Tour Dates

Kill Devil HillKill Devil Hill, featuring ex-Pantera and Down bassist Rex Brown, have announced a 22-date U.S. club tour starting October 2nd in Clifton, New Jersey. The band, who recently signed with SPV/Steamhammer, is rounded out by former Dio drummer Vinny Appice, guitarist Mark Savon and vocalist Jason “Dewey” Bragg. The trek will give Kill Devil Hill a break from the studio and working on their debut album, which is tentatively set for a March 2012 release.

Brown, who split from Down in June, says he sees the band as a “long term deal,” and not just a side project.

In describing the sound of the band to Bravewords.com, the bassist explained, “I’d say if you take the elements of [Pantera and Dio] and mash them together you have one powerful rhythm section and the rest of the songs have a little spice of maybe early Alice in Chains, but there’s a whole influence of Led Zeppelin… Throw that in the mix and you’ve got four pretty killer bands to choose from.”
