Rex Brown’s New Spector Signature Bass Arrives in Desert Gold
Pantera bassist Rex Brown reunited with Spector in 2024 after a brief change of endorsement. He’s been using Spector on the road ever since, and now they’ve unveiled a new instrument: the Euro 4 Rex Brown Signature Bass.
“The new Rex Brown Euro Bass has been a labor of love,” says Brown. “We took our time with every detail, from the balance of the pickups to the backplate design, it features the same neck profile I’ve used on my Spector’s for years. It all comes together in a bass I’m incredibly proud of and one I think players will really enjoy.”
The bass features neck-through construction with a three-piece maple neck and empresswood body wings topped with flame maple. Its Desert Gold finish is inspired by the New Mexico landscape where Brown now lives. An Indian rosewood fingerboard is inlaid with smoke crown inlays, while gold hardware, a classic script Spector logo, and Brown’s logo on the back of the headstock add to the instrument’s personality.
Electronics include a set of EMG PJ-X pickups and Spector’s TonePump active preamp. “This configuration is designed to deliver a responsive and articulate voice with strong low-end presence and a distinct midrange character,” a press release explains. “An accessible rear trimpot allows players to fine-tune output level, providing added control over the instrument’s overall response.”
The Spector Euro 4 Rex Brown Signature Bass is available now with a street price of $3,599.99.
