Jason Newsted Launches New Online Presence to Connect with Fans
Jason Newsted is ready to reconnect with his fans, as evidenced by a new official web presence, including his own website and social media outlets. The former Metallica bassist announced the news with a YouTube video.
After leaving Metallica in 2001, Newsted worked on albums with Voivod, Papa Wheelie, and Rock Star Supernova, though news of his work became more obscure the past few years. While he hasn’t released any info on new music, a new t-shirt design stating “Jason’s Back!” is a fairly good indicator that we’ll be hearing more from him soon. The website also includes a gallery section where fans can submit their own photos of the bassist to add to the collection.
In his time with No Treble, Kevin has met hundreds of amazing bassists and interviewed icons like Jack Casady, Victor Wooten, Les Claypool, Marcus Miller, and more. He's a gigging bassist performing jazz in Northern Virginia and bluegrass with The Plate Scrapers up and down the East Coast. Kevin appreciates all genres of music, from R&B to metal and everything in between. Connect with Kevin on Facebook and check his performance schedule on his website.
Good to see you, Jason.

Finally, really missed his presence in the rock/metal world. In-the-pocket bassist and a killer vocalist as well.
