Aguilar Amplification Releases SL 212 Bass Cabinet
Aguilar Amplification is kicking 2018 off by unveiling the SL 212, a new bass cabinet in their superlight SL series. Weighing in at 45 pounds, the 4-ohm cab is fitted with two custom-voiced woofers with Neodymium magnets and a phenolic tweeter with variable level control. It can handle 500 watts RMS.
“We spent a lot of time working on the crossover design to arrive at the smoothest possible frequency transitions,” Aguilar president Dave Boonshoft explains. “The ultra-light ply and subsequent cabinet tuning were also critical factors in achieving the signature tone of the SL 212.”
Other features include 12mm lite-ply construction, a Neutrik Speakon output, two 1/4-inch outputs, and rubber feet. It’s available now with a street price of $1,199.
