Dean Unveils the Jon Lawhon Hillsboro Bass

Dean Guitars and Black Stone Cherry bassist Jon Lawhon teamed up this year to release a signature bass. The Jon Lawhon Hillsboro Bass takes one of the company’s existing models and decks it out for the bassist’s wants and needs, including an old-school seafoam green finish.

The bass is constructed with a classic configuration of an alder body with a maple neck. Its jatoba fingerboard has a special Jon Lawhon key inlay at the 12th fret with dot inlays for the rest of the markers. It sports a single active DMT Design humbucker with volume and tone controls. Hardware includes open gear tuners, dome black knobs, and an ABM-style die-cast bridge.

The Dean Jon Lawhon Hillsboro Bass will be shipping later this year with a price point of $499.
