Mabuta: Log Out Shut Down
South African band Mabuta is a group that mixes jazz with elements of electronica and afro-pop for a fresh sound. Led by bassist Shane Cooper, the band recently hit the studio to make a video for a track from their debut album, Welcome To This World.
On “Log Out Shut Down,” Cooper and drummer Marlon Witbooi setup a trance-like groove for the horns and keyboard to explore. The bassist’s tone is on point, and be sure to listen for his tasteful fills.
