Bass of the Week: Fad Guitars Corona P50
This week we’re checking out the Corona P50 by Indonesia’s Fad Guitars. Despite its name, the bass was introduced last year as their first-ever hollow body bass.
It has an interesting wood combination that utilizes jackfruit back and sides with a mahogany top. Its maple neck sports a vintage “C” shape and a rosewood fingerboard with 21 frets. Finished in a “licorice” color, the bass gets some extra elegance with a gold/copper colored pickguard, hardware, and finger rest.
For electronics, the company opted for a single Seymour Duncan Antiquity 50 P pickup with passive electronics. The tone control has a push-pull function to double as a kill switch. Finally, the hardware includes a Badass II bridge and Hipshot HB2 tuners.
