Gerald Veasley’s Bass BootCamp Returns March 18-20

Gerald Veasley

Gerald Veasley’s Bass Bootcamp is back for 2022, which will mark the camp’s 20th anniversary. The weekend-long getaway will once again include hands-on workshops, masterclasses, giveaways, and meet and greets with the camp’s faculty.

This year Veasley will be joined by renowned players and educators including Joe Aranda, Bryan Beller, Bakithi Kumalo, Justin Raines, Ruben Rodrguez, Divinity Roxx, and Rob Smith. Bassists will also learn from saxophonist Chris Farr and drummer Richard Waller III.

“From the very start, the intention of the Bass BootCamp was to provide an environment that was conducive to learning in a non-judgmental, inviting, space where everyone can feel comfortable and get the most out of the Bass BootCamp experience,” the Bootcamp website states. “A by-product of Gerald Veasley’s Bass BootCamp is the camaraderie amongst the campers and the friendships that develop and grow. For the campers that return year after year, it’s like a family reunion.”

Alongside the educational events is the Bass Gear Expo, during which bassists can meet luthiers and gear designers while trying out great bass gear. 2022 exhibitors include Brubaker Basses, Epifani, Essential Sound Products, Ibanez Guitars, Kydd Bass, LK Straps, Michael Tobias Design, New York Bass Works, Phil Jones Bass, RevSound, Skjold Design, Spector, Valenti Basses, and more.

The 20th Bass BootCamp will be held March 18th through the 20th at the Courtyard Marriott City Avenue in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Tuition for the weekend is $549.
