Brian Bromberg‘s Downright Upright has been nominated for a Grammy. The album is a collection of funky, upbeat covers and originals recorded with jazz greats including Rick Braun, Boney James, Jeff Lorber and Lee Ritenour. You can sample tracks from Downright on Bromberg’s web site.

Marcus Miller is featured on The Many Moods of Miles Davis, Part II: The Later Years, currently running on NPR and available online. Christian McBride, along with drummer Antonio Sanchez, is on tour with Pat Metheny’s Trio. McBride first played with Metheny in the early 90’s, but admits it didn’t go as well as this time around. The Trio, together since 2003, is set to release their first album, “Day Trip”, in January, 2008.

Jazz bassist Reuben Rogers and his group will perform at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY on Saturday, Nov. 4 at 8pm.
