Unissued Jaco Pastorius: Pat Metheny Trio, 1974

Jazz blog You Are What You Hear has posted 9 MP3’s of the famed Pat Metheny trio recording in June, 1974. The recording took place at Pooh’s Pub, in Boston, and features Metheny on guitar, Jaco Pastorius on bass, and Bob Moses on drums.

The track list doesn’t match exactly with Len Pogost’s set list, so we’re not sure if this is from the same set, or a combination. also offers up some great background.

Outside of the Portrait of Jaco, the early years, the only other place you’ll find an official release of this group (studio version), is on Metheny’s debut album Bright Size Life.
