Berklee announces new online bass courses

Berklee School of Music is offering three online bass courses for their Spring term.

Jazz Bass, taught by Jim Stinnett, is a 12-week course focusing on constructing and improvising jazz bass lines, studying standard chord progressions, and studying the work of jazz bass legends including Paul Chambers, Ray Brown, Ron Carter and Christian McBride.

Anthony Vitti is teaching Rock Bass, a course on constructing bass lines in a variety of rock and blues styles.

Rich Appleman and Danny Morris are teaming up on Bass Performance 101, where students will study and break down the music of electric and acoustic bassists and how to create and perform bass lines in a variety of music styles.

All three courses run 12 weeks, beginning April 6th. Cost is $1,095 for credit, $895 for non-credit. Get more info and signup details at Berklee’s web site.
