Flock of Seagulls bassist’s instruments stolen

Frank Maudsley, bassist for 80’s band Flock of Seagulls, was left beside himself after his irreplaceable instruments were stolen from his house in West Derby, England. The total value of items stolen rounded off at £30,000 (over $38,000 US).

It was very fortunate that Frank and his girlfriend, Pat, returned to their home a day early because it is believed that burglars were planning on returning for more.

“Plasma TVs had all been lined up in the hallway with the handsets and the cables tied in a knot,” Frank said.

Five guitars, a ukulele, various audio equipment, laptops, and video cameras were stolen, as well as personal items such as clothing and jewelry. Among the guitars that were stolen were a handmade Martin semi-acoustic custom auditorium and a Les Paul that Frank has had for years. He is incredibly angry that he will probably never see his beloved guitars again. Police are investigating this case.
