Phil Brown’s Jazztet releases “Bright Side”

Bassist Phil Brown has recently released his new album with the New Art Jazztet. The new album, Bright Side features ten songs, with six composed by Brown and four by the other members of the group.

Pianist and composer Jean-Michel Pilc spoke on Brown’s compositions and playing, saying “Phil’s music is as much fun to listen to as it is for the musicians to play. They obviously have a blast, and their warmth, groove and swing are highly contagious. Great feeling on both sides of the loudspeakers!”

The recording showcases the groups ability to play familiar styles in new and fresh ways. The album has it all, from straightahead to mainstream, and free jazz to funk. The album can be picked up on Brown’s web site, in the recordings section.
