Paul McCartney Reissues “Band on the Run”

Wings: Band on the Run Paul McCartney and Wing’s 1973 album, Band on the Run, is being reissued in four different configurations in November. The sets were supervised by McCartney and remastered at Abbey Road using the same team who recently remastered the entire Beatles’ catalog.

The Standard Edition is a single disc release, featuring the 9 remastered tracks.

The Special Edition includes 2 CDs and 1 DVD with 9 bonus audio tracks, rare footage of the McCartney’s in Lagos and a behind the scenes look at the album cover photo shoot. The set also includes the original “Band on the Run” promotional video clips, the One Hand Clapping television special (highlighted by studio performances filmed at Abbey Road in 1974), with enhanced packaging.

The Deluxe Edition includes everything in the Standard and Special Editions, plus a 120-page hard cover book featuring previously unpublished photos by Linda McCartney and Clive Arrowsmith, album and single artwork, downloadable hi-res audio versions of the remastered album and bonus audio tracks, a full history of the album complete with a new interview with McCartney and expanded track by track information for all four discs. The deluxe edition also includes a special “Band on the Run” audio documentary, originally produced for the 25th Anniversary edition.

The album is being reissued through Concord Music Group. McCartney broke ties with EMI earlier this year.
