Jerry Jemmott To Tour With Gregg Allman Band
The Gregg Allman band is hitting the road for a Winter 2010/2011 tour that runs up and down the east coast, with bassist Jerry Jemmott.
The group is making the trek in support of Allman’s upcoming album, Low Country Blues. The album, which actually features bassist Dennis Crouch, is a collection of cover songs by famous bluesmen, including Muddy Waters, Otis Rush and B.B. King.
Jemmott is one of the most heard yet under-appreciated bassists of our time. As a key architect of Atlantic Records sound of the 60’s and 70’s, he played on tons of hit records by Aretha Franklin, King Curtis, Wilson Pickett, B.B. King, and more. Jaco Pastorius claimed him as a major influence.
