Anthony Jackson Working Again with Steve Khan

Steve Khan: Parting Shot, with Anthony JacksonSix-string bass pioneer Anthony Jackson is working again with Steve Khan on the guitarist’s upcoming album, Parting Shot. The CD, due in March, features other veterans from Khan’s Eyewitness band including drummer Dennis Chambers and percussionist Manolo Badrena.

Parting Shot will be a Latin jazz based album, which Jackson is no stranger to, thanks to his work with Michel Camilo and other Latin virtuosos. Together the group will be laying down seven new original pieces as well as a few Monk and Ornette Coleman tunes.

Jackson first appeared on Khan’s Eyewitness, which spawned a new direction in his career. The latest release they collaborated on was Suitcase, which was a live trio recording of the two with Chambers on drums in 1994.
