Dave Sitek To Sit In On Next Jane’s Addiction Album
The saga of the bass position in Jane’s Addiction continues as the group revealed that TV On The Radio’s Dave Sitek will be contributing on the four-string for their next release, due out this summer. According to Spinner, the producer/multi-instrumentalist will also be writing material with the alternative rockers, but will likely only be a band member as far as the album goes, due to his busy schedule.
After original bassist Eric Avery quit, former Guns N’ Roses member Duff McKagan picked up the slack last year, only to leave after five months to focus on his own work. The group played two shows after Duff’s departure, accompanied by Chris Chaney, who played on their last album, Strays.
Rumors of Chaney’s return now seem unlikely with Sitek filling in for the album, though it could be anybody’s guess.
