Dark Matter Audio Unveils DMA1 Smart Audio Hub
Dark Matter Audio has unveiled details of their premier product, the DMA1. The DMA1 is an app-enabled smart device tailored for musicians, featuring a color touchscreen, internet capability and tons of connectivity. It’s capable of effects processing, multi-track recording, playing MP3 files and more.
Similar to a smartphone, users will be able to wirelessly download apps, including drum machines, loops, patch bays, tutorials and other content. DMA is also open to third party developers, so the list of apps should be ever-growing.
“With [the] DMA1 we’ve endeavored to create a paradigm shift in the world of audio production and performance,” says Dark Matter Audio CEO Jon Stuart. “DMA1 is the future of audio and music production precisely because it can be any future that a musician or producer could want.”

This is EXACTLY what I’ve been looking for. I was about to drop $500 on an Ipad just to get some of the music apps on there like Irig. This’ll be a great alternative and probably better and cheaper. w00T!

This has the connectivity we have all dreamed of and the power to back it up…thats why we built it…it will come with a variety of apps for Bass, Vocals, Drums, Guitar, Synths, MIDI etc. It will retail in the UK for £500 inc VAT and will probably MAP around $600 or less in the US. It has more audio processing power than a tablet allowing for higher quality apps better for stage and studio work.
