Brian May Announces Bass Guitar Model
Queen fans get ready: House Music has unveiled the Brian May Bass. The guitarist (we won’t hold that against him) gave the low-end treatment to his infamous 6-string called the Red Special, which he made with his father as a kid.
Finished in Cherry Red, the “Fat Bottomed” bass is a medium 31.5” scale instrument, featuring a bound mahogany body and an ebony fingerboard with 20 frets. To continue the old school vibe, the hardware includes vintage high-mass roller bridge, retro-styled control knobs, and Hipshot tuners. The electronics bring together a vintage styled humbucker in the neck position and a single coil pickup in the bridge position connected to a passive circuit with volume/volume/tone controls.
The Brian May Bass ships with a padded gig bag and is available now with an RRP of £715 ($1165 USD). For more info, visit the Brian May Guitars site.
