Gregg Allman: Just Another Rider, Live with Jerry Jemmott
I’ve been listening to a ton of music with the great Jerry Jemmott lately and decided to check out some videos too.
This one, which aired on The Late Show with David Letterman earlier this year, made me smile to see the bass legend still going strong. Really strong.
Jemmot still sounds great!
Really hear where Jaco came from. Tommy Cogbill too, as Jaco admits to Jerry on “Modern Electric Bass”.
No doubt about it, Derek. When you watch the “Memphis Soul Stew” and “Ridin’ Thumb” videos here, you can also see where Jaco must have also been inspired to take the pick guard off his Jazz bass. Jerry was doing that in 1971, and probably before.
