This clip comes from the 1979 film, The Kids Are Alright, featuring the isolated bass work of John Entwistle on the Who’s classic “Won’t Get Fooled Again”. Give it a little time before the Ox dives in, around the 50 second mark.
Facebook friend César Romo Castro sent us this video of bassist Daniel Rey performing his original composition, “Palenque”. Daniel’s technique is truly remarkable – especially his right hand, which doesn’t look quite human. Have a video to share? Drop us a note at email@example.com.
When I found out this video existed (much less the performance), I was highly jealous of the entire audience who was able to witness it (Ben Harper + Tal Wilkenfeld!) Luckily, someone in the audience was able to capture it for the rest of us. In this video, Harper, Jackson Browne and Tal perform Harper’s…
Spyro Gyra’s Scott Ambush balances between funky and soulful on this solo from the Richmond Jazz Festival earlier this year. The band grooves hard while playing around their tune “On the Road.”
Slovakian bassist Juraj Griglak absolutely kills it in this clip for what appears to be a random passer-by in a Tokyo guitar shop. Check out Griglak’s serious case of bass face at 0:59.

As usual he…

Facebook friend and bassist Edmond Gilmore shared his impressive take on Jaco Pastorius’ take on “Donna Lee”. Edmond said, “This clip was made with full Conga Cover… testing my amazing Fbass AC-5.” Well done, Edmond. Have a video to share? Send it to firstname.lastname@example.org.
No Treble’s all-new original video tutorial for fixing a guitar. Be sure to share this excellent advice with your guitar player friends. Just 3 easy steps! Video by Buzonya. Voice over by John Mangino.
Once again, Fabio Meridiani caught our ears with this performance of “The Sync”, a cool and funky solo bass piece from Fabio’s album Subline 2.
