Alex Bershadsky: Ma’oz Tzur
In celebration of Hanukkah, we’ve got an incredible bass-only version of the traditional Jewish liturgical poem performed by Alex Bershadsky. The Israeli-raised bassist layers a lyrical fretless line on top of his chordal fretted work to create a rich and introspective arrangement of the song.
This arrangement can be found on the new Zon Guitars Holiday Rumblings album.
In his time with No Treble, Kevin has met hundreds of amazing bassists and interviewed icons like Jack Casady, Victor Wooten, Les Claypool, Marcus Miller, and more. He's a gigging bassist performing jazz in Northern Virginia and bluegrass with The Plate Scrapers up and down the East Coast. Kevin appreciates all genres of music, from R&B to metal and everything in between. Connect with Kevin on Facebook and check his performance schedule on his website.
Pity we couldn’t see him play the fretless parts :(
Beautiful.

I Agree with Joakim and Ed… really wish we could’ve seen the fretless solos, or at least part of them. Nevertheless a moving tune.
Beautiful!
