Höfner Reissues Updated Shorty Bass

Höfner Shorty Bass Reissue

Höfner has reintroduced the Shorty Bass, a model they ran in the 1980’s featuring an extremely short scale and body. The updated version bumps the scale up from 28″ to 30″ for easier playability, as well as utilizing better string spacing, similar to that found on their trademark Violin Bass.

Available in black, the Shorty Bass has a basswood body, maple neck and rosewood fingerboard with 24 frets. The simple design features a single humbucker with volume and tone controls.

The Höfner Shorty Bass is shipping now with a suggested retail price of €220 (approx. $278.00 USD). For more info, visit the Hofner website.

  4. good for someone who like to travel with his instrument. I like the idea, but this bass looks so ugly ;d

  5. this thing has potential of being mistaken as an ukulele if it is played by bigger bassist.

  6. I like the shape and I am thinking about getting one. Good for your back instead of heavy things!
