Bass of the Week: Noguera Expression

This week we take a look at Noguera Basses’ flagship model, the Expression. Designed to produce a “rich sound with accurate low end,” the bass is hand made in France.

Noguera Expression Bass

Available in 4-, 5- and 6-string models, the Expression features bolt-on construction with a bubinga body, maple neck, and wenge fingerboard. The elegant bridge is wood with individual brass saddles to improve sound definition. For pickups, Noguera includes a pair of its own single coils matched with a 2-band EQ. The bass can also be switched into passive mode.

While Noguera has several models, the company explains that they offer designs with the option to customize any part of it. The Expression has a base price of €1,850 (approx. $2,470 USD) for the 4-string model. For more, check out the Noguera Basses website.

  1. It’sa pretty. The Expression Plus on their website may be even cooler.

  2. I used to play an FJP (Fusion Jazz Passion) in the late 90’s. Those are pretty old anyway, the expression series were designed in 1996 I think, played recently an 6 fretless one. Christian Noguera is also a nice person: I met him in Salon de la Musique in 98 in Paris, I had a problem with the neck, I shipped him and he replaced it for free, cos’ lifetime garanty on his products. Really nice basses and tones! I also played an Expression Plus Deluxe once, and indeed they are really cool basses….

  3. omfg that’s hot.

  4. it would be great to see the headstock – simple, elegant and beautiful bass ;p.
