G&L Introduces Tribute Series M-2000 and M-2500 Basses
Late last year, G&L upgraded their flagship bass line with the M-2000 and M-2500 basses. Now the company has announced Tribute Series versions of the instruments, which offer the models at lower price points.
Both the 4- and 5-string basses come in two different configurations of either a honeyburst over swamp ash body with a rosewood fingerboard or gloss black over a basswood body with a maple fingerboard. The M-2000 is also available with a swamp ash body and either 3-tone sunburst or blueburst finishes.
The basses are stocked with G&L’s U.S. made MFD humbucking pickups, which are paired with an 18v preamp with Volume, Pan, Bass, Mid, and Treble controls. For hardware, the company uses traditional open-back tuners and a Leo Fender-designed G&L Saddle-Lock bridge.
The G&L Tribute Series M-2000 and M-2500 are available with street prices of $973 and $1,045, respectively. For more info, check out the G&L Guitars website.

Nice basses, I’d give those a try… 5er in blue would be great to have :)
Looks like they don’t make the carved top models anymore…
oh yes, they do, in this tribute series: http://www.glguitars.com/instruments/TributeSeries/basses/index.asp
looks like they’ve moved the pickups to a more favourable position. I think so anyway.
Are all G&L basses available as left handed, or have they gone the way of Fender in this regard? Cheers.
I like the fact that the basses don’t have those little switches next to the pickups. I always feel like I would break those on the other models. Great looking basses.
Has someone tried one? Is there a way to listen at?

I don’t think those are ‘Street’ prices but rather MSRP.
Does anyone know for sure?
