HAO Introduces Bass Liner Preamp Pedal

HAO Bass Liner Preamp PedalJapanese boutique pedal company HAO has unveiled the Bass Liner Preamp pedal. Co-designed with Phil Jones of Phil Jones Bass, the stompbox-sized preamp offers a 5-band EQ, Level control, and an Input Gain control to suit any bass.

The 5-band EQ provides 18 dB of cut/boost at 50 Hz, 160 Hz, 630 Hz, 2.5 kHz and 12 kHz, which the company explains are key frequencies for properly voicing any bass instrument. At center detent, the controls have a flat response and don’t change your instrument’s unique tone.

The Bass Liner features True Bypass and a mute switch that allows for silent tuning via the secondary Direct Output jack. It’s powered by either a 9-volt battery or a tip-negative polarity DC adaptor between 9 and 18-volts. The higher the voltage, the more punch and clarity.

The HAO Bass Liner is available in the U.S. now for $349. It’s distributed in the U.S. by Godlyke.

  1. just buy a sansamp for less money.

  2. I think I’ll stick with my Xotic Bass Preamp. Cheaper and sounds great.. IMHO.

  3. Watching the video, it looks like they had an XLR out in the prototype. That would’ve made it more useful to me.
