Pavel Jazz Pro Vintage Series Bass

Pavel de la Fuente has announced a new line of basses through his custom shop, Pavel Musical Instruments. The new Jazz Pro Vintage USA bass models include both 4- and 5-string basses, with a choice of Alder or Ash for the body, Rock Maple neck and a choice of Maple or Rosewood fretboard.

The basses are available in natural, white, black, red, blue and amber colors. All color options are translucent, with a satin finish.

The 21 fret, 34? scale basses include Aguilar pickups.

The Jazz Pro Vintage basses are available on order from Pavel. Street prices are $1,650 for the 4-string and $1,850 for the 5-string. For more info, check out Pavel’s website.

  1. I don’t see too much extra to warrant the jump in price from a Fender. I mean its a really sharp looking bass, but then again so are the Fender counterparts. I’d still love to give this baby a test drive though!

  2. The difference is better quality parts, wood and workmanship!

  3. I play Pavel (Gibor neck-thru 6) and I own two Fender Jazz basses…there’s a big (positive) difference between the two. You’ll absolutely love the feel of a Pavel!
