Jaco’s style of bass playing reminds me of Miles Davis and Jimi Hendrix. They all played a very unconventional style of music that challenged our understanding of what music is and what it is supposed to sound like. I respect the amazing abilities of all these men but I must confess… their styles are over my head. To my ear their music lacks a descernable rhythm and flow.
