2013 ISB Convention Headliners to Include Victor Wooten, Ron Carter
The International Society of Bassists’ biennial convention is set for June 2nd through June 8th, 2013 at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York, and this year promises to be another great get-together. The week-long bass hang features over 200 events for bassists of all walks, including clinics, classical and jazz competitions, bass making competitions, performances and more.
Each evening is capped with a pair of headlining concerts – one classical and one jazz. This year’s headliners include Victor Wooten, Joel Quarrington, Brett Shurtliffe and Yung-Chiao Wei, Ron Carter, Thomas Martin, Dave Holland, Diana Gannett, Szymon Marciniak, Talking Hands (Martin Wind, John Clayton, Rufus Reid and Lynn Seaton), Yi-Jung Su and Or Bareket.
The ISB Convention also offers an exhibition with bass makers, string companies, and other bass goods manufacturers showing their products. For more on the event, check out the ISB Convention website.
