Mike Lull Announces Non-Reversed T-Bird Style NRT4 and NRT5 Basses

Mike Lull has taken the classic non-reversed T-Bird style bass concept and combined it with his own engineering. The result is the new NRT4 and NRT5 basses.

The NRT4 and NRT5 offer up the same specs as the company’s T4 and T5 models, but with the non-reversed body shape.

Lull wanted to take the classic deep tones of the original T-bird style basses, but add “a twist of extra sweetness and articulation”. So he reversed engineered a set of 1964 T-Bird pickups and worked from there to make them his own.

The company says there’s an added perk to these basses: no headstock dive. Lull also dramatically lowered the weight of the instrument, making it even more player-friendly than the old school basses which inspired it.

The NRT4 and NRT5 basses are all hand-built by Mike himself. The current build time is 12 to 14 weeks, according to the company.

Street prices for the basses are $3,450 for the 4-string NRT4 and $3,675 for the 5-string NRT5, with options and upgrades available.
