Yes Announce Yestival
Yes fans, mark your calendars: the iconic progressive rock band has announced their first ever festival, called “Yestival.” Set for Saturday, August 3rd at Camden, New Jersey’s Susquehanna Bank Center, the day long event will include performances by the band as well as The Musical Box, Renaissance featuring Anne Haslam, Carl Palmer’s ELP Legacy and other acts to be announced.
“This is a concept we’ve been trying to put into motion for some time, and only now we’ve been able to turn it into reality,” bassist Chris Squire explains. “We’re looking forward to starting YESTIVAL out in the Philadelphia area, which has been a Yes stronghold since the ‘70s.”
Yes will be performing their classic albums The Yes Album and Close to the Edge in their entireties along with more hits, while The Musical Box will be recreating the Foxtrot Show that Genesis performed in 1973. Carl Palmer’s ELP Legacy Band, featuring bassist Simon Fitzpatrick, will be presenting new arrangements of Emerson, Lake & Palmer’s hits.
The festival will also feature a second stage with performances by newer prog rock bands like Scale the Summit, a special appearance by The School of Rock, and an art showing by Roger Dean.
