Bio:

I am 32 year old NERD by day/rocker by passion from Kansas. I’m happily married with three awesome kids, and I have played in many genres from Rock, Blues, Funk and even some classic country at my wife’s family reunions! LOL.

Location:

Haysville, Kansas

Day gig:

Lead IT Computer Analyst

Years experience:

13 years

Bands & Gigs:

I have playing with my best friends in the world, Third Hill, for almost eight years. Known for our high energy pop rock, we have opened up for various national acts as well as packed the house on some of the biggest local venues. The funny thing is due to the economy we actually now live in three separate states, but always make arrangements to play shows.

Gear:

  • Fender American P Bass
  • Fender Mexican Jazz Bass
  • Fender Kingman Acoustic Bass
  • SWR 750x
  • SWR 6×10
  • Sennheisser wireless
  • Korg DTR 1000 Rack Tuner

Why I play the bass:

A buddy of mine had a couple acoustic guitars and we would try to jam. I ended up just playing the root notes while he jammed on power chords. I was into Red Hot Chili Peppers at the time and found out that Flea and I shared the same birthday. I was hooked!

My bass superpower/claim to fame

I would say that I have been able to play in any music situation, whether its playing with Third Hill, filling in for bass in my mom’s jam/blues band, or playing some good ol’ classic country with my wife’s family, I’ve prided and have been complimented that I can jump in there and be what they need me to be.

My influences

Flea, Marcus Miller, Brian Marshall (Creed/Alterbridge), Danyel Morgan (Robert Randolph & the Family Band), Vinnie Hornsby (Sevendust)
