Billy Cox and Bootsy Collins to Join Experience Hendrix Tour 2014
The Experience Hendrix Tour is back for its eighth run, and this year is set to be another spectacular show. Leading the charge is bassist Billy Cox who will be a constant member of the tour’s rhythm section. Cox is the only musician, apart from Hendrix himself, who was a member of both the Band of Gypsys and the Jimi Hendrix Experience. The main drummer for the tour is Double Trouble founder Chris Layton.
Another highlight of the tour is the return of Bootsy Collins, who will be performing on eight of the dates. The funk legend also joined the tour in 2012 and was the narrator for the documentary Jimi Hendrix: Voodoo Child. Collins will be on the final eight shows, beginning on March 25th at the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, New Jersey.
Other musicians on the bill include Zakk Wylde, Buddy Guy, Johnny Lang, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Eric Gales, Dweezil Zappa, Eric Johnson and more.
