Digitech Reintroduces Bass Whammy Pitch Shifting Pedal

Digitech Bass Whammy Pitch Shifting PedalYears after the original was discontinued, Digitech is reintroducing the Bass Whammy pedal. The updated pitch-shifting pedal is optimized for bass guitar tones and retains its classic settings while introducing new true bypass and MIDI operation.

Digitech says the Bass Whammy is ideal for 4-, 5-, or 6-string basses and has very accurate pitch detection and polyphonic note tracking. It has two modes to differentiate playing styles: Classic mode offers accurate tracking for single note lines while Chords mode uses a different algorithm to better track chords.

Classic features include nine Whammy bending modes ranging from two octaves up to one octave down, nine harmony bending modes, and Shallow and Deep detune modes. The addition of true bypass allows the pedal to be added to a signal chain without losing sound quality. Another new feature is a MIDI input for controlling the Bass Whammy with an external MIDI device.

The Digitech Bass Whammy will be shipping in March with a suggested retail price of $279.95. For more info, check out the Digitech website.
