Dean Reintroduces Stylist Cabbie Bass

After discontinuing the model in 2007, Dean has reintroduced the Stylist Cabbie Bass. The outlandish semi-hollow bass stands out with a yellow top and a black and white checkerboard design on the back and sides.

  1. What was the first year the cabbie bass introduced?

  2. I wonder if Dean is still using the 6-string guitar PAF-style humbuckers in these, or if they have finally put some BASS pickups in them? The most common subject discussed about the original Dean Cabbie basses was which pickups to replace the originals with. That’s fairly inexcusable on a $519.95 bass!

I still want a Cabbie, but if they are the same ol’ pickups, I may end up trying to fit the Fender Precision Cabronita pickups in place of the originals.
