Justin Meldal-Johnsen to Tour with Beck in 2014

Beck: Morning PhaseJustin Meldal-Johnsen took to Twitter to make an announcement about his 2014 plans. The bassist/producer will be spending more time performing with Beck and a bit less time in the studio.

“Nostalgia aside, I have a little announcement to make which hearkens back to my past a bit,” he wrote. “Starting now, I will be spending most of my time in 2014 performing live with Beck. Record producing will move forward at a slower pace overall for most of this year, but I will be doing some concurrently with my travels. It’s time for me to return to my ‘natural habitat’ of performing for a while. I hope to see some of you out there. Thanks for your support.”

JMJ contributed to Beck’s latest album, Morning Phase, which the group will be touring behind. A smattering of dates have just been announced including several music festivals ranging from April to July. The outing kicks off at Santa Barbara, California’s Arlington Theatre before hitting Cachella then heading east across the U.S. and Canada.
