California Breed, Featuring Glenn Hughes, Announces Debut Album

California Breed

Vocalist/bassist Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Black Country Communion) has joined up with former Black Country Communion bandmate Jason Bonham (drums) and newcomer Andrew Watt (guitar/vocals) to form the new band California Breed.

The trio shares co-writing credits on its debut self-titled album, which will be released on May 20. The group came together after Julian Lennon introduced Hughes to Watt and the pair instantly clicked, musically.

“Literally, the first day me and Andrew got together we wrote two songs,” recalls Glenn on his website. “One was ‘Chemical Rain’ and the other was ‘Solo’, both of which are now on the finished album. I was so moved by the music, I said, ‘We’ve got to record this!’ That’s when I called Jason.”

Hughes, the most veteran of players in the trio, says the group makes him feel like he’s just starting out again.
