Ed Breckenridge Joins Angels & Airwaves

Blink 182 guitarist Tom DeLonge took to his Instagram page to announce that his band Angels & Airwaves has recruited former Thrice bassist Ed Breckenridge to join their ranks.
“We welcome Ed Breckenridge to the gang- Formerly of the post-hardcore band #Thrice,” he wrote. “He is a perfect fit for this group of punk rock Gymnasts. A daily surfer, and skateboarder …. And shredder from Orange County, we look forward to his moves on stage.”
Breckinridge replaces bassist Matt Wachter, who left in late June to concentrate on being with his family. Angels and Airwaves is set to release their fifth album on October 31st. Delonge notes the album is a departure in many ways from their previous work stating, “There are things that will never change, like my melodic sensibility and the way that I write. But the song structures, arrangements, chord progressions and tonalities have all changed radically.”
