Abraham Laboriel Sr.: Listen to Your Brother

A couple of months ago, we featured a video from Berklee’s 2014 Alumni Reunion Concert featuring Abraham Laboriel Sr. performing with his sons.

Here’s another song from that performance, with an additional family connection. Laboriel Sr. is once again joined by his sons – Abraham Laboriel Jr. on drums and Mateo Laboriel on guitar – as well as Jetro Da Silva on piano on this tune, with lyrics written by the master bassist’s wife.

Enjoy “Listen to Your Brother”, and as Abraham says, “feel free to stand up and dance, and party hard.”

  1. I listen and crank this song every chance I get. I can tell that Abe plays and sings this song from the heart. Would like to find a CD with this song on it.

  3. What a joy to see Abraham Laboriel & his boys . I have had the honor of meeting and talking with this amazing man on a few occasions. He is “The Master & Teacher” to many !

  4. Great song, this should be a standard! Definitely adding it to my list. I hear a little Andy Partridge (XTX) and a little Joe Jackson in Abe’s voice :-)
