Danielle Nicole Releases Soulful Debut EP

Danielle Nicole: Debut EPDanielle Nicole has soul.

And you can hear that soul in her vocals, bass playing and songs on her rootsy, bluesy, new self-titled EP, recorded in New Orleans and Kansas City. The New Orleans tracks are produced by guitarist Anders Osborne and the remaining two songs on the set were recorded live at KTBG-The Bridge 90.9 FM in Kansas City.

Her sound isn’t totally surprising — she’s already known for her work with her brothers Nick and Kris Schnebelen, in their former band Trampled Under Foot. She’s also a 2014 Blues Music Award winner for her instrumental chops.

One song is featured twice on the EP (a radio edit and live version), and it’s a good one. Take a listen to “You Only Need Me When You’re Down”:

Danielle Nicole is available on CD and digital formats (iTunes and Amazon MP3).
