Reader Spotlight: Johannes Ossi
Meet Johannes Ossi, one of many bassists who started out first on guitar, before finding his love with the lower end of the spectrum. Johannes keeps busy with a post-grunge band, and thinks of bass in the way many would say is the mark of a true bassist. He’s the No Treble reader in the spotlight for the week of March 23, 2015.
Bio:
I started out as a guitar player, in an Black Sabbath cover band. I found out a couple of months later that the bass was a better and more giving instrument.
Several metal, rock, and funk bands later (14 years have passed), and now I’m rocking a 6-string Ibanez in a grunge band in Denmark.
Love it, and have never looked back.

Denmark

I’m a web/UX designer.

I’m in a Post-Grunge band called LYRA. We are heavily influenced by the 90s rock. We just released an EP (on iTunes and Spotify ).
I found my band, and super sound with this.

Why I play the bass:
To be able to have such a great impact on the music is soothing to me. I love the feeling to be the one that the others rely on… to be the one that holds the drums and guitars together.

Steady as rock, and the most reliable!
My influences
John Myung, John Paul Jones, Geezer Butler.
